Kore Press, an organization established in 1993, was honored with a Tucson Pima Arts Council Lumie Award this year. The organization took home the award for "established arts organization."

"We combine social activism and social justice with creative writing," says Lisa Bowden, co-founder of the press, which publishes women whose writing might not otherwise reach a broader audience. The press also runs writing and social activism workshops for local girls, cultivating the next generation of female voices.
