RTA Enters Last Year of the 1st Period

Gary Hayes, executive director of the Regional Transportation Authority, is now looking at putting second- period (fiscal years 2012-16) projects on hold in order to review "soft costs," which include everything but construction and land acquistion expenditures on RTA road project. Hayes, who oversees the $2.1B, 20-year multi - modal plan approved by Pima County voters in May 2006, say soft cost review will not affect any projects of the first, five-year period.
