Author Diane Ravitch, a historian of education at New York University, discusses education reform.
Education historian Diane Ravitch has worked in the Presidential administrations of both George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, leading federal efforts to set academic standards nationwide. But that life is no more--Ravitch has since gone on record discarding the status quo educational party line, and espousing a new vision of education reform.
She joins the Arizona Illustrated studio to talk about Arizona's schools and what it will take to help them succeed.

Thank you Diane for telling it like it really is. If we only had the will to fallow these words of wisdom, we would have a great educational system in AZ. Everything she said was 100% correct. Now, how do we educators educate our AZ citizens about what needs to to be done? I wish we could have this segment shown on all Prime Time News channels here in AZ. If we want to be #1 in the world in education we need to make real changes. Here is a link that I think many will find very interesting. It talks about Finland, the #1 ranked country in world, as far as education goes. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3478376,00.html Thank you Diane.
