We all live with herpes viruses, but in most of us they are latent and benign. University of Arizona researcher Felicia Goodrum is studying one type of virus to find out why it transforms into an active state to cause birth defects, disease and even death.

Immunobiology professor Felicia Goodrum spoke with Leslie Tolbert, Ph. D Professor Emerita in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
