Gasoline prices continue to decline in Arizona, down a nickel a gallon or more in just the last week and below the price of one year ago, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report says.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Arizona on Monday was $3.32. One week ago, it was $3.37, and one year ago it was $3.38.
Tucson continued to have the lowest prices in the state, at an average of $3.24 a gallon, one penny less expensive than Phoenix. One year ago, Tucson's average was $3.29 and the average in Phoenix was $3.31.
Flagstaff had the highest prices in the state, averaging $3.54 a gallon, down from $3.63 one year ago.
The national average on Monday, according to AAA, was $3.40 a gallon, down 27 cents from one year earlier but up nearly two cents in the last week.
AAA attributed the national increase to summer demand and a global tightening of supply.
