It's Veterans Day weekend and Tucson residents are encouraged to take some time to thank a veteran.

Mark Mulick, a fomer combat veteran who retired from the Navy as a chief petty officer, says he believes it's important to recognize all veterans for their service and sacrifice.

Mulick say events like the 2012 Veterans Celebration Day can help.

It's organized by the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson and includes representatives from dozens of different organizations that can help active service members, veterans and their families.

The 2012 Veterans Celebration Day is being held the afternoon of Saturday November 10. The official commemoration is on November 11th but most people who are off from work will get their break on Monday the 12th.
