A coalition of organizations is encouraging Tucsonans to see the story of the men and women in law enforcement who risk their lives daily.

The documentary is called "Heroes Behind the Badge" and it tells the stories of officers who have survived attacks or danger or who have made the ultimate sacrifice while working for their respective communities.

A $10 donation is asked to watch the documentary, with proceeds going to help three entities that contribute to law enforcement officers and their families.

One is the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which hosts Police Week each spring and adds new names to a memorial in Washington, D.C.

Assistance is also planned for 100 Club of Arizona and the Erik Hite Foundation.

The foundation is named after a Tucson police officer who died when shot in June 2008 when pursuing a suspect. The group's mission is provide child care to the offspring of members of police agencies and firefighters.

The documentary has played to audiences around the nation and can be seen in Tucson Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Fox Tucson Theatre.
