Officials say lightning is responsible for sparking more than a dozen wildfires in the area known as the Arizona Strip near the Arizona-Utah border.

Fire management officers say 13 fires are burning in the area after several storms moved through Wednesday afternoon.

Two groups of fires are burning south of St. George, Utah, in Arizona.

The fires have burned a total of 22,000 acres, officials say.

Several ranching structures, like outbuilding and barns, are threatened. No evacuations have been reported.
