Nutrition and sustainable food are becoming more popular with people around the country.

The fourth annual UA Food Day celebration at the University of Arizona highlights these healthy trends.

"Food Day...(celebrates) and (brings) new awareness to issues around food, relating to both health and sustainability," said Hana Abdulaziz Feeney, a registered dietician at the UA's Campus Health Service, and the organizer of this year's event.

The celebration will have 50 different exhibitors, university related and not, which will bring the public interactive activities, games, resources and information about better quality foods.

Topics for the various events will include improving access to healthy and sustainable food, as well as how to be aware of where food purchased comes from.

The UA Food Day celebration will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Feeney said she encourages people to come down and lear how to cultivate their own food, and to check out the UA Iron Chef competition, which will be taking place at noon.
