Pima County officials are hoping to find out how people use the local library system via an email survey they'll be sending out in the next few days.
About 180,000 county residents will receive the survey from the Pima County Public Library.
So far, county officials have surveyed patrons of local library branches as part of a grant from the federal government to evaluate the system.
Jen Maney, manager at the library, said the survey will use the results to tailor its services toward what people say they want.
"If we have a lot of people who are shifting to e-books, we could shift more money into e-books, for example," she said.
There are more than 400,000 people with library cards in Pima County.
In addition to many of them, Maney said the county plans a telephone survey of people who don't yet use the library to find out what they want.
She said the library self-evaluation process is expected to stretch into spring 2014.
