Finding Shakespeare

The University of Arizona has been chosen to exhibit the traveling FIRST FOLIO, the book that “gave us Shakespeare.”

The University of Arizona has been chosen to exhibit the traveling FIRST FOLIO, the book that “gave us Shakespeare.” It is the first collected edition of the Bard’s plays. Only 233 copies are known today. To mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the Folder Shakespeare Library is sending a First Folio to every state. We visit with a book binder who is recreating the First Folio with his own hands, a crumhorn consort who plays the music of Shakespeare’s time and an Arizona Repertory Theatre director who is preparing his actors to perform two plays from the First Folio.
