They’re back! Students in Southern Arizona’s largest school district head back to the classroom Thursday for the new school year.

The Tucson Unified School District, with 90 schools and more than 50,000 students, is the oldest in Arizona.

This school year, for the first time in its 150year history, TUSD will use new technology to keep parents in the loop on homework, grades and what’s happening, with a cell phone and computer app called Parent Vue.

“Parent Vue is your hub to stay informed about your children’s classes, assignments, grades and attendance," says a video on the app's website.

Any TUSD parent can down load the app. Parents won’t have to rely on their kids to tell them the campus goings on.

From the website: “The calendar tab allows you to see an overview of your child’s school schedule, including posted assignments, homework and tests.”

The feedback from parents is already good. Not so much from the students. But at least they can prepare for parents’ reaction with their own app. Just like Parent Vue, students can see the same information through Student Vue.
