Hundreds of athletes will walk away from the Summer Olympic Games this weekend with medals, but economic studies show most of them will not see any personal financial benefit from their time in the international spotlight.
Studies also indicate that for the host city, economic and social benefits from the Olympic experience are far from guaranteed.
