Those wanting to get a closer look at how state courts work will have their chance at the end of the month.

An Arizona Appeals Court will be hearing arguments at the University of Arizona in both civil and criminal appeals. Attorneys will present cases to panels of judges. The court, which is based in Tucson, will convene March 29 in front of UA law students and faculty.

The civil case deals with an insurance claim filed after a woman suffered a stroke during a CrossFit class.

The criminal case involves a man convicted of manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend. The court will look at the convicted man’s dispute of evidence after his gun was damaged in crime-lab testing and whether issues involving his interview by a detective after his arrest.

The session will be from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the law school on East Speedway Boulevard. It’s open to the public.
