Tucson's primary election is Aug. 27, and city election officials say the window to mail in your ballot is closing.

Elections officers caution voters if their ballots are not in the mail by Wednesday, Aug. 21 there is no guarantee they will reach the elections office in time to be counted.

The deadline ensures that your ballot will get to the elections center by 7 p.m. on election night. Any ballot received after that will not be counted, no matter when it is postmarked.

If you do not get your ballot in the mail in time you can drop it off on election day at one of seven locations. All of the locations are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Tucson voters are casting primary ballots for Democratic mayoral candidates and City Council members in wards 1, 2 and 4.
