Some Arizona businesses starting process of reopening

A group of business owners say the move to reopen is coming too soon.

A range of Arizona businesses are reopening Monday amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Those include dine-in services at restaurants and some department stores.

Gov. Doug Ducey gave the go-ahead last week for barber shops to open starting last weekend, with enhanced sanitation and reduced capacity. He said restaurants could reopen indoor dining with reduced occupancy and with a requirement that employees undergo screening before beginning a shift. Some business owners have struggled to interpret the guidance coming from the governor's office.

In the meantime, a long list of small business owners around the state say they won't change. They say the governor’s order to reopen Arizona came too soon, emphasizing how the state’s coronavirus case numbers continue to rise.
