Bobcats Among Us
A group of scientists /volunteers has been conducting an extensive research project to find out the numbers and facts about bobcats on Tucson’s westside, west of I-10. The study involves trapping the animals and then finding out details such as confirm the sex, checking on body condition, and taking DNA samples. So far, the group has captured and released 53 different bobcats on 63 occasions and the collared bobcats have been spotted at nearly 50K locations.

Andrew Rush – The Etcher
Andy Rush is a former associate professor of art at the University of Arizona, he is a printmaker, sculptor, and drawer. He considers the study and practice of drawing from observation to be the foundation of visual intelligence. As a teaching artist Andy explores how to broaden each person’s notion of what drawing can be. He founded The Drawing Studio in 1992 with a core group of Tucson artists. He is a resident of the Rancho Linda Vista art community in Oracle, Arizona.

Tiny Homes – Wholistic Transformation
A Tucson nonprofit called Wholistic Transformation is moving closer to building a tiny home community for youth exiting the foster care system by utilizing the shipping containers that once were part of Gov. Doug Ducey’s border wall. Wholistic Transformation’s director Bryan Benz isn’t just looking to build a tiny housing community, but to also create a support system for these youth. He hopes to build a community of seven tiny homes that will not only help provide affordable housing but will also include a resident navigator who will be available on premises. Each tiny home will be a one-bedroom house with a full kitchen and bathroom, including a washer and dryer.
