Angela Gervasi
ReporterAngela Gervasi is a journalist and radio producer reporting on immigration and border issues in Southern Arizona. Her stories range from analyses of the federal government’s ongoing expansion of the detention system, to community-centered stories about the history and culture of the borderlands.
Angela spent several years reporting in the region, where she worked for the Nogales International. Her reporting there spanned high-stakes accountability and deeply local stories, from the Santa Cruz County treasurer who embezzled $40 million to a railway project that disrupted a neighborhood in Mexico. She has also covered migration, rural public health, and the mining industry. In 2025, Angela was a production fellow for This American Life in New York where she co-reported on federal immigration court in Manhattan.
Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing guitar, singing, and cooking pasta for friends. Angela can be reached by encrypted message on Signal at anggervasi.95.
