Matthew Singer

Matthew Singer is the AZPM News Assignment Editor, continuing a longtime passion for hyper-local reporting that brings audiences closer to the region in which they live. Previously, he served as a culture reporter and editor at alternative weekly newspapers in California and Oregon, including a decade at Portland's Willamette Week, where he won several regional and national awards for feature writing.

He moved to Tucson in 2021, where he now lives with his wife, two children and a pair of cats. He can often be found watching movies at The Loft, shopping for used vinyl at Desert Island Records and eating the patty melt at The Red Garter, in between spending way too much time thinking about his fantasy basketball team.
