A new documentary tells the story of four Girl Scouts who yearn to be "Cookie Queens".

Featured on the July 30th, 2026 edition of ARIZONA SPOTLIGHT with host Mark McLemore:

  • Meet Alysa Nahmias, the Tucson-born director of the new documentary called Cookie Queens, which follows four hopeful Girl Scouts who learn a lot about life and business when they seek to break records during the annual 6-week long Girl Scout cookie season.

  • Julieta ASMR is one of the most popular artists in her field. She explains the basics about the internet sub-culture of ASMR, where some people find soft sounds create intense sensations. This story was produced by Diana Cardenas, and a full video will be broadcast next season of Arizona Illustrated on PBS-6.

  • And Bohdan Zachary, AZPM's Chief Original Content Officer, tells an improbable account of survival against the odds, and the kinds of stories that can be too painful to share even with those we love.
