A crowd of almost 5,000 fans attended the Indoor Football League National Championship game at the Tucson Arena; August 16, 2026.

Two professional football teams battled for the Indoor Football League National Championship in Tucson Sunday night.

The Arizona Rattlers beat the Green Bay Blizzard 62-51. It was the second time in three years the championship has been played at the Tucson Convention Center.

Tucsonan Roman Campuzano decided to go to the title game for the first time.

“I am super excited to be a part of this," he said. "I got invited, and I am so jazzed to be here right now."

Football fans were expected to bring an estimated impact of $1.4 million dollars to the Tucson economy. Hosting the event was inspired by the collegiate Arizona Bowl, which has been held in Tucson since 2015.

The Rattlers won their third IFL title, and their eighth championship across several indoor leagues, including the Arena Football League.

Tucson's Rio Nuevo economic development board finished a $100 million dollar renovation project at Tucson Arena in 2024, with an eye on bringing an event like the IFL championship to the city.

Tucson will host the championship again next year, the third of a three-year contract with the IFL.
