NAMIWALKS invites the community to show support for mental wellness.

Featured on the March 28th, 2024 edition of ARIZONA SPOTLIGHT with host Mark McLemore:

  • The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southern Arizona is a community based organization that offers help and hope to those affected by mental illness and their loved ones. NAMISA is holding their biggest fundraiser of the year NAMI walks, which will take place Saturday, April 6th at Kennedy Park. Mark talks with two NAMISA representatives, April Barbosa and Marisol De La Rosa, about their mission to offer no cost advocacy, education and support to anyone in our community coping with mental illness.

April Barbosa is also the Program Coordinator for NAMI's Ending The Silence program.

If you or someone you know needs help, you can get in touch with the national Suicide & Crisis Hotline by calling or texting 988. In Tucson, The National Alliance on Mental Illness is available at 520-622-6000, and The Hope Incorporated Warm Line is 520-770-9909. There is no shame in attempting to save a life, especially your own.

  • It’s one thing to read about history, but it’s another thing to hear it. Meet the band Piffaro, who perform music from the late Medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque periods, on original antique instruments.
