Native America preview screenings

Arizona Public Media presented the first episode of the PBS series Native America to audiences at Crowder Hall at the University of Arizona on October 22 and at Baboquivari Middle School & High School in Topawa, Arizona on November 8. The event in Topawa was a first for AZPM and the turn-out was high. Baboquivari Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Edna Morris welcomed guests.

The guest speaker at both screenings was Lindsay Montgomery, Ph.D., University of Arizona Assistant Professor of Anthropology, who also provided expert commentary for the series.

Native America is a four-part series that travels through 15,000 years to showcase massive cities, unique systems of science, art, and writing, and the social networks and spiritual beliefs that connected 100 million people across two continents. It premiered on PBS 6 on November 13 as part of Native American Heritage Month programming.
